Robots help surgeons remove throat cancer

NCT ID NCT01257633

Summary

This study looked at a new robotic surgery technique for early-stage throat (laryngeal) cancer. It followed 54 patients to see if the robot-assisted surgery could successfully remove all the cancerous tissue. The main goal was to check if the edges of the removed tumor were clean, meaning no cancer cells were left behind.
