Robotic pets calm ICU patients to help them breathe on their own

NCT ID NCT07163247

Summary

This study tests whether providing a robotic pet companion can reduce anxiety in intensive care unit (ICU) patients who are trying to breathe without ventilator support. It involves 24 adult patients who have previously struggled with this process. The goal is to see if less anxiety helps patients complete their breathing trial successfully and potentially get off the ventilator sooner.
