Robot bronchoscopy could spot lung cancer earlier

NCT ID NCT07057648

First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests a new robotic technology (ssRAB) to take tissue samples from lung nodules. Current methods work only about 70% of the time; the robot aims to be more accurate and safer. About 100 adults with lung nodules will undergo the procedure under anesthesia and be followed for 6 months. If successful, this approach could help diagnose lung cancer earlier and reduce the need for riskier procedures.
