Robots vs surgeons: the battle for a better knee replacement

NCT ID NCT05204797

Summary

This study aims to find out if using a robot to assist with partial knee replacement surgery is better than the standard surgeon-led technique at preventing the new joint from loosening early. It will involve 50 patients, aged 50-80, who need surgery for knee arthritis. Half will get robot-assisted surgery and half will get standard surgery, and researchers will carefully track how stable the implant is over two years.
