Robot surgeons tested to make bile duct stone removal safer for doctors

NCT ID NCT07368335

Summary

This study is testing a new robotic system for performing a common procedure to remove stones from the bile duct. It compares the robot-assisted method to the standard manual method to see if it works just as well and reduces radiation exposure and physical strain on the doctors performing it. About 200 patients with bile duct stones will be randomly assigned to have their procedure done with the robot or the standard technique.
