Robot arm takes on stomach tumors: safer surgery ahead?
NCT ID NCT07655674
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares a robot-assisted endoscope to standard endoscopy for removing small stomach tumors. About 110 adults with tumors between 1-3 cm will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see if the robot helps preserve the stomach lining, shorten surgery time, and lower complications like bleeding or fever.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Endofaster surgical robot system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could make tumor removal safer and faster, reducing complications and recovery time for patients with stomach tumors.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage, single-center study with only 110 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The robot system may not outperform standard methods or could have unexpected technical issues.
