Robots fight hospital weakness in seniors
NCT ID NCT05782855
Summary
This study is testing whether using a robot to help older patients do leg exercises twice a day during a hospital stay can prevent them from losing strength and independence. Nearly 500 patients aged 65 and older were randomly assigned to receive either the robot-assisted training or a sham (pretend) training session. Researchers are checking if the training helps patients perform daily activities and maintain leg strength at discharge and for three months after.
