Cuddly robot seal aims to calm Kids' needle fears
NCT ID NCT07299006
Summary
This study is testing if a therapeutic robot shaped like a baby seal, named PARO, can help reduce pain and anxiety in young children getting an IV needle placed. Researchers will compare using the robot along with standard comfort techniques against using standard techniques alone. They plan to enroll 120 children, aged 1 to 7 years, across five pediatric centers to see if the robot improves the overall experience of this common procedure.
