New Lying-Down technique aims to make kidney cancer surgery safer and less painful

NCT ID NCT07234409

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 17, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a new surgical position is better than the standard one for patients having robotic surgery to remove a small kidney tumor. Researchers want to see if having patients lie on their back, instead of on their side, leads to fewer complications, less pain, and a faster hospital discharge. The trial will include 124 adults in Italy who are candidates for this type of minimally invasive surgery.
