Robot Doctors' eyes? new camera aims to spot eye trouble in the ER

NCT ID NCT06566339

Summary

Researchers at Duke University are testing a robotic camera system designed to help emergency department staff diagnose problems with the front of the eye. The study will compare how well ER doctors can spot issues using their standard exam versus using pictures taken by the robot, using a specialist eye doctor's exam as the benchmark. The goal is to see if this technology can improve eye care for patients coming to the ER with complaints like eye pain or redness.
