Robot arm takes on colon surgery: faster, safer removal of growths?

NCT ID NCT07354867

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a simplified robot (FASTER) helps doctors remove abnormal growths from the colon or rectum more quickly and safely than the standard method. About 40 adults aged 18 to 80 with such growths will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The main goal is to see if the robot reduces total surgery time and lowers risks like bleeding or a hole in the bowel.
