Robotic walking therapy could help stroke survivors regain balance and confidence

NCT ID NCT07365384

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether allowing the hips to move freely during robot-assisted walking training helps stroke survivors walk better and feel less afraid of falling. About 36 people who had a stroke at least 6 months ago will receive either free-hip or restricted-hip robotic training plus standard therapy for 4 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in walking speed, balance, and fear of falling to see which approach works best.
