App aims to ease burden for stem cell transplant caregivers
NCT ID NCT04094844
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a mobile app called Roadmap 2.0 could improve the quality of life for caregivers and patients undergoing stem cell transplants. Over 370 caregivers and patients used a Fitbit tracker and answered surveys. Some also got the app with extra positive activities. The goal was to see if the app helped caregivers feel better emotionally and physically during a stressful time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Roadmap 2.0 mobile app with optional positive activities
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, low-cost way to support caregivers and patients during stem cell transplant recovery.
What could go wrong
This is a completed trial, but the intervention is a behavioral app—not a drug or cure. Benefits may be modest and not apply to all caregivers or settings.
