New oral pill tested for painful skin condition that antibiotics Can't fix

NCT ID NCT07228390

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily oral pill called ritlecitinib can safely reduce painful skin lumps in adults with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic inflammatory skin disease. The 240 participants, whose HS did not improve with prior antibiotic treatment, will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug or a placebo pill for 16 weeks. Researchers will compare the two groups to see if the drug is effective at reducing the number and severity of skin lesions and improving quality of life.
