New drug could prevent keloid regrowth after surgery

Summary

This study tests a drug called ritlecitinib in 30 adults with keloids (raised scars). Half will get the drug after keloid removal surgery, and half will get the drug without surgery. The goal is to see if the drug can stop keloids from returning and improve scar appearance. The study is open-label, meaning everyone knows what treatment they receive.
