First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study is tracking 430 adults having colorectal surgery to understand why some develop a serious complication called an anastomotic leak (a leak where the bowel is reconnected). Researchers will look at factors before, during, and after surgery to build a risk prediction model. The goal is to help doctors identify high-risk patients and potentially prevent leaks in the future.
