New hope for kids with rare, deadly lung disease
NCT ID NCT02562235
Summary
This study tested the safety and correct dosing of a drug called riociguat in children aged 6 to 18 with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a serious condition causing high blood pressure in the lungs. Researchers carefully adjusted the dose for each child based on their age, sex, and weight over an 8-week period, followed by a 16-week maintenance phase. The main goal was to see how well children tolerated the drug and how it moved through their bodies, while also checking for any effects on their heart, lungs, and overall health.
