First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested two ways of doing a free gingival graft (gum tissue transplant) to increase the amount of firm, healthy gum around dental implants. 38 adults with thin gum tissue took part and were randomly assigned to receive either the new "Ring" technique or the conventional method. Researchers measured gum health and tissue width before surgery and at 1, 3, and 12 months after to see which technique worked better.
