Free rides to save sight: new program tackles transportation barrier for diabetic eye care

NCT ID NCT07296952

Summary

This study is testing whether providing free rideshare rides helps Medicaid patients with diabetic eye disease get to their scheduled eye doctor visits. Researchers designed the PRONTO-EYE program with patient input to address transportation as a key barrier to care. They will measure if more patients attend their appointments compared to before the program started and see how well the service works in a real clinic setting.
