Summary
This study aims to understand why rhinovirus (the common cold) causes severe breathing problems in some children, leading to hospitalization. Researchers will follow 120 young children in the community and 450 hospitalized children, plus 100 healthy older kids for comparison. By analyzing nasal samples, they hope to identify which virus types and immune responses lead to serious illness.
