Could a single antibiotic dose during nose surgery be as good as a full course?

NCT ID NCT04194216

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a single dose of antibiotics given during nose surgery works just as well as taking antibiotics for several days after surgery to prevent infections. About 864 adults having nose surgery will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to find out if the simpler, one-dose approach is enough to keep patients safe.
