New needle treatment may replace surgery for adrenal gland tumors causing high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT07470580

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study compares two treatments for a type of adrenal gland tumor (Conn adenoma) that causes high blood pressure. One is laparoscopic surgery to remove the tumor, and the other is a less invasive procedure called radiofrequency ablation (RFA) that uses heat to destroy the tumor. The goal is to see if RFA works as well as surgery to control blood pressure and hormone levels, with potentially fewer side effects. About 134 adults with this condition will take part.
