First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether the drug rezvilutamide, combined with standard hormone therapy, can prevent high-risk prostate cancer from coming back after surgical removal. About 33 participants will take the pills and get injections for up to 2 years. The main goal is to see how many stay cancer-free for 3 years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Rezvilutamide (a drug taken orally) and leuprorelin (a hormone therapy injection)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could help prevent high-risk prostate cancer from returning after surgery, offering a new option to keep patients cancer-free longer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early exploratory study with only 33 people, so results may not apply broadly. The treatment lasts 2 years and may cause side effects like fatigue, hot flashes, or liver issues.
