First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests a program called REWIRE for teens aged 12-17 who feel anxious or depressed and use social media over 3 hours daily. Participants will cut their social media use by about half and replace it with positive offline activities like hobbies or time with friends. The goal is to see if this change reduces anxiety and depression symptoms compared to just learning about social media health.
