First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests if warming donated kidneys from people aged 50+ for 6 hours before transplant can improve how well they work a year later. About 240 adults getting their first or second kidney transplant will take part. Half will get the standard cold storage, and half will get the new warm machine perfusion. The goal is to see if this method leads to better kidney function and fewer complications.
