Turning back the clock on heart disease? study aims to shrink plaque in young adults
NCT ID NCT05783804
Summary
This study is testing if starting powerful cholesterol-lowering treatment early can actually shrink dangerous plaque buildup in the heart arteries of young adults (under 50) who have an inherited condition causing very high cholesterol. Researchers will use special heart scans to measure plaque in 60 participants before and after treatment. The goal is to see if aggressive therapy can reverse early heart disease and prevent future heart attacks.
