NCT ID NCT07446231

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether online programs can help newly retired adults (ages 60-70) become more physically active. 159 participants will be split into three groups: one focusing on identity and habits, one on self-regulation skills, and one on education only. They will wear activity trackers and complete online lessons over 12 months to see which approach works best.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Online behavioral program (self-regulation and identity/habit lessons)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that simple online programs help retirees become more active, reducing their risk of chronic disease.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study that hasn't started recruiting yet. The results may not apply to all retirees, and people might not stick with the program.
