Eye scan could spot hidden heart disease without needles or surgery
NCT ID NCT06692751
First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study explores whether a quick, painless eye scan (OCT-A) can diagnose microvascular angina, a heart condition affecting tiny vessels that standard tests miss. Currently, diagnosis requires an invasive heart procedure. Researchers will compare eye scan results with the standard invasive test in 158 adults to see if the eye scan is a reliable alternative. If successful, it could lead to faster, cheaper, and safer diagnosis.
