First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a 12-week home-based high intensity interval training program to standard education helps adults with type 1 diabetes who have lost the ability to feel low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) regain that awareness. 47 participants were randomly assigned to education alone or education plus exercise. The goal was to improve their Gold score, a measure of hypoglycemia awareness.
