First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study follows 1,600 adults aged 60 and older who are hospitalized with respiratory infections like flu, COVID-19, or RSV. Researchers will measure changes in their ability to perform daily tasks, such as bathing and dressing, to understand how these infections lead to loss of independence. The goal is to identify which viruses cause the most harm and to guide better prevention and vaccination efforts.
