First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special breathing feedback device to standard breathing exercises can reduce symptoms and improve quality of life in adults with chronic kidney disease. Twenty-four participants will practice the exercises three times daily for six weeks. The goal is to see if the approach is acceptable and whether it helps with breathing, fatigue, and daily function.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

diaphragmatic biofeedback combined with respiratory muscle training

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease breathing problems and improve daily life for people with chronic kidney disease.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-stage trial (24 people) testing feasibility, not effectiveness. The intervention may not provide meaningful benefits or may be hard to stick with.
