First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether a supervised strength training program can help prevent harmful weight gain and improve physical health in people recently diagnosed with psychosis who are starting antipsychotic medication. Forty participants will be randomly assigned to either receive standard care plus a 12-week resistance training program or standard care alone. The study aims to see if the exercise program is feasible and whether it reduces body fat and improves muscle strength.
