First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether a trauma-informed program led by occupational therapists could help preschoolers (ages 2-4) from under-resourced neighborhoods build resilience, self-regulation, and coping skills. Thirty-eight children and their caregivers took part in group sessions over 8 weeks. The goal was to see if the program improved emotional health and quality of life compared to a standard school readiness group.
