New drug RNS60 tested for safety in emergency stroke treatment

Summary
This study tested whether an experimental drug called RNS60 is safe for people having a severe stroke caused by a large blood clot in the brain. All 83 participants were already scheduled for a procedure to remove the clot. They received either a low or high dose of RNS60 or a placebo (salt water) as a 48-hour infusion. The main goal was to check for serious side effects and survival at 90 days.
