New drug combo could help stroke patients recover better

Summary
This study tests whether adding a fast-acting blood thinner (cangrelor) to the standard mechanical clot removal procedure improves recovery for people with acute ischemic stroke. About 368 adults with a blocked artery in the brain will be enrolled within 24 hours of symptoms. The main goal is to see if more patients have a good functional outcome (less disability) 3 months later.
