New hope for keeping your breast after cancer returns

NCT ID NCT06704659

Summary

This study is testing whether women whose breast cancer has come back can safely have a second breast-conserving surgery followed by another round of radiation therapy, instead of removing the entire breast. It involves 60 carefully selected patients from two Finnish hospitals who meet strict criteria, including being over 55 and having a small, localized recurrence. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and can preserve the breast while controlling the cancer.
