Midwives may soon watch vital signs from their phones during labor
NCT ID NCT07167498
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a smartphone to monitor a mother's oxygen levels, breathing, and heart rate from a distance is safe when she receives remifentanil for labor pain. Normally, a midwife must stay in the room at all times due to risks like breathing problems. The study will compare 80 women who are monitored remotely to those with a midwife present, to see if remote monitoring is just as safe.
