Summary
This study tested whether repeatedly inflating and deflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm (remote ischemic conditioning) could improve recovery in 458 people who had a severe stroke caused by a blocked artery in the brain. The goal was to see if this simple, non-drug treatment could reduce disability 90 days later. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
