Could a simple arm cuff help control high blood pressure at high altitude?
NCT ID NCT07562477
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 30-day treatment called remote ischemic conditioning (using a blood pressure cuff to briefly restrict blood flow) can help lower blood pressure in adults with hypertension who have moved to high-altitude areas (above 2,500 meters). About 184 participants will receive either standard medication alone or medication plus the cuff treatment. The goal is to see if the added treatment improves blood pressure control.
