Cuff therapy may lower blood pressure in high-altitude newcomers

NCT ID NCT07562477

First seen May 06, 2026 ยท Last updated May 06, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a simple, non-invasive treatment called remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) can help lower blood pressure in people who moved to high-altitude areas. About 184 adults with hypertension who have lived above 8,200 feet for over 6 months will receive either standard blood pressure medication alone or medication plus daily RIC sessions for 30 days. The goal is to see if adding RIC leads to a greater drop in average blood pressure over 24 hours.
