First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested whether repeatedly inflating and deflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm (remote ischemic conditioning) could reduce heart damage and improve outcomes in people having emergency angioplasty for a heart attack. Only 2 participants were enrolled, so results are very limited. The approach aims to protect the heart and kidneys during the procedure.
