First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a computer-based cognitive training program designed to improve balance and reduce fall risk in older adults. 32 participants aged 65 and older who had fallen in the past year or had trouble walking used the program for up to 50 sessions. The goal was to see if the program was easy to use and if it could help with fall prevention.

computerized cognitive-training program
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a non-drug, home-based option to help older adults improve balance and reduce falls.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed feasibility study with only 32 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is not a treatment for any disease.
