Arm cuff therapy tested to shield High-Risk hearts

NCT ID NCT07270887

Summary

This study is testing if a simple, non-invasive treatment called remote ischemic conditioning can help prevent future heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems in people who have already had serious heart or artery disease. The treatment involves repeatedly inflating and deflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm, which may train the body to protect its vital organs. Researchers will follow 2,800 high-risk patients to see if this long-term therapy reduces major health events.
