Summary
This study tested whether simple relaxation exercises could help people feel better after emergency surgery. Seventy patients were randomly assigned to either do guided muscle relaxation sessions or receive standard care. The exercises, done three times after surgery, significantly reduced pain and anxiety and helped improve heart rate and breathing.
