Ancient healing touch tested for modern cancer recovery
NCT ID NCT06524895
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether a session of Medical Reiki, a gentle hands-on energy therapy, given right before breast cancer surgery can help improve recovery and well-being. It will involve 32 women undergoing mastectomy, comparing real Reiki to a sham (pretend) version. The main goal is to see if offering this therapy is practical and if it affects patients' mood, pain, stress levels, and other recovery measures over two months.
