First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called REGN7999 in people with a type of beta-thalassemia that doesn't require regular blood transfusions. The goal is to see if the drug safely reduces the extra iron that builds up in the body, which can damage organs. About 95 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers will measure iron levels in the liver using MRI scans.
