First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study aims to create a risk prediction model for older adults (60+) who develop rhabdomyolysis—a serious muscle breakdown condition—after lying on the floor for over an hour following a fall. Researchers will analyze medical records from 1,000 patients to identify who is likely to develop acute kidney injury, need kidney replacement therapy, or die. The goal is to help emergency doctors decide which patients need hospital admission and which can be safely discharged.
