Could stopping unneeded pills sharpen minds in schizophrenia?
NCT ID NCT06562608
Summary
This study is testing if safely stopping certain medications that are no longer needed can help improve thinking skills, quality of life, and daily functioning for adults aged 40-70 with schizophrenia. About 105 participants will be randomly assigned to either continue their current medication or have it gradually reduced under a doctor's care. Researchers will use brain scans and tests over 6 months to see if reducing these drugs leads to better cognitive performance and brain health.
