New program aims to ease trauma of intensive care

Summary
This study tests whether a program that improves how ICU staff care for patients can lower discomfort and reduce the risk of PTSD after leaving the hospital. About 1,242 adults who have been in the ICU for at least three days will take part. The program includes better communication, more humane practices, and a longer learning period for staff.
