First seen May 23, 2026 ยท Last updated May 23, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether tracking phone use, doing more non-phone activities, and earning small financial rewards can help college students reduce their problematic smartphone use. About 50 Rutgers students who feel they use their phone too much will use a special app to monitor their habits. The goal is to see if these simple strategies lead to lasting changes in how much time they spend on social media and gaming.
